Child Safety Statement

Version 2026-04-26b

Profound is an adults-only platform. The Services are intended exclusively for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow minors to register or use Profound, we do not direct advertising or content to minors, and we do not operate any features designed for children. This page explains how we keep that commitment and how to reach our safety team.

Our zero-tolerance commitments

  • No CSAM. We do not allow child sexual abuse material on the platform under any circumstances. We report suspected CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and cooperate with law enforcement.
  • No sexual content. Sexual or sexually suggestive content is prohibited platform-wide.
  • No accounts for users under 18. Eligibility is established when you accept our Terms of Service at signup. If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we terminate the account and delete the associated data.
  • No grooming or off-platform solicitation. Soliciting personal information, requesting images, or attempting to move conversations off-platform with another user — whether that user is a minor or an adult — may result in immediate termination and a NCMEC report where applicable.

How we enforce the 18+ rule

  • Terms-based age attestation. Every signup includes an explicit representation that the user is at least 18 years old. Misrepresenting age is a material breach of the Terms.
  • Actual-knowledge termination. When a credible report or signal indicates a user is under 18, our Trust & Safety team terminates the account and deletes the data.
  • Server-side safety holds. Reviewers can pause an account immediately. Holds block messaging, booking, and joining calls; they are enforced on the server, not in the UI.
  • In-call Report button. Any user can report a session in real time; high-priority reports — including suspected minor users or CSAM — page our Trust & Safety reviewers.
  • Human review. Every report involving suspected child-safety harm is reviewed by a human, and we keep a written record.

How to report a child-safety concern

  • In the app: tap the Report flag during a call or on a profile and choose "A minor is on the platform" or "Child sexual abuse material".
  • By email: safety@getprofound.net.
  • For ongoing or imminent danger, contact your local police first. In the U.S., you can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

For parents and guardians

Profound is not designed for, marketed to, or appropriate for anyone under 18. If you believe your child or a minor in your care has created a Profound account, please email privacy@getprofound.net with the relevant email address. We will verify the report and, where confirmed, terminate the account and delete the associated data.

Compliance & cooperation

We comply with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A reporting obligations and cooperate with valid legal process. We also align our adults-only positioning with applicable platform-safety laws, including the UK Online Safety Act and the EU Digital Services Act, and we apply COPPA-style protections by refusing to collect personal information from anyone we know to be under 18.
