SMS Messaging Program
By providing your phone number and opting in to receive text messages from Profound, you agree to these SMS Terms and Conditions. These terms supplement our main Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Program Description
Profound's SMS messaging program sends automated text message notifications to keep you informed about your bookings and account activity. This service is designed to enhance your experience by providing timely updates directly to your mobile device.
2. Consent to Receive Messages
2.1 Express Written Consent
By checking the SMS consent box during registration or in your account settings, you provide your express written consent to receive automated text messages from Profound at the phone number you provided.
2.2 Not a Condition of Purchase
Consenting to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from Profound. However, opting out may affect your ability to receive important booking updates and reminders.
2.3 Types of Messages
You will receive the following types of messages:
- Booking Confirmations: Sent immediately after a session is booked
- Session Reminders: Sent 24 hours and 1 hour before scheduled sessions
- Cancellation Notifications: Sent when a session is cancelled by either party
- Booking Requests: Experts receive notifications when clients request sessions
- Payment Confirmations: Sent after successful payment processing
- Account Security Alerts: Critical security notifications (cannot be opted out)
- Schedule Updates: Notifications about changes to booked sessions
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your activity on the platform:
- Per Booking: Typically 2-4 messages per booking (confirmation, reminders)
- Active Users: Users with multiple bookings may receive more messages
- Experts: May receive additional messages for client requests and booking acceptances
- Maximum: You will not receive more than 10 messages per day under normal circumstances
4. Message and Data Rates
Important: Message and data rates may apply to text messages you receive from Profound. These charges are determined by your mobile carrier and are your responsibility. Profound is not responsible for any charges incurred from your mobile carrier.
5. Supported Carriers
Our SMS service is supported by major U.S. mobile carriers, including but not limited to:
- AT&T
- T-Mobile
- Verizon
- Sprint
- U.S. Cellular
- Boost Mobile
- Cricket Wireless
- MetroPCS
- Virgin Mobile
- And other major carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. How to Opt Out
Stop Receiving Messages
You can opt out of SMS notifications at any time using any of these methods:
Method 1: Text Command
Reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message from Profound
Method 2: Account Settings
Navigate to Account → Settings → Notifications and toggle off SMS notifications
Method 3: Contact Us
Email support@getprofound.net with your phone number and request to opt out
6.1 Confirmation
After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message stating that you have been unsubscribed from Profound SMS notifications.
6.2 Opting Back In
If you opt out and later wish to receive SMS notifications again, you can:
- Text START or UNSTOP to the same number
- Re-enable SMS notifications in your account settings
- Contact support@getprofound.net

8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your phone number and SMS message data are protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- We use Twilio as our SMS service provider
- Your phone number is stored securely and encrypted
- We do not sell or rent your phone number to third parties
- SMS content is retained only as long as necessary for service delivery
- You can request deletion of your phone number by contacting us

9. Delivery and Reliability
9.1 No Guarantee of Delivery
While we strive for reliable delivery, we cannot guarantee that all messages will be delivered. Messages may be delayed or not delivered due to:
- Mobile carrier issues or outages
- Network congestion
- Phone being turned off or out of service
- Phone memory being full
- Carrier filtering or blocking
9.2 Alternative Notifications
You will also receive email notifications for all important updates. We recommend enabling both SMS and email notifications for maximum reliability.
10. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the SMS service for any illegal purpose
- Harass or abuse Profound staff or other users via SMS
- Attempt to circumvent or manipulate the SMS system
- Share or forward messages in a way that violates our Terms of Service
- Use automated systems to interact with our SMS service
11. Changes to SMS Program
We reserve the right to modify or terminate the SMS program at any time. Changes may include:
- Types of messages sent
- Message frequency
- Supported carriers
- Program features
We will provide notice of material changes via SMS or email.
12. Liability Limitations
Disclaimer: Profound, its service providers (including Twilio), and mobile carriers are not liable for:
- Delayed or undelivered messages
- Inaccurate message content due to transmission errors
- Losses or damages arising from reliance on SMS notifications
- Charges incurred from your mobile carrier
- Service interruptions or outages
13. International Users
Our SMS service is currently available only for U.S. and Canadian phone numbers. International SMS rates may apply for users with international numbers. Some features may not be available outside the United States.

Our SMS program complies with:
- Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
- Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) guidelines
- Twilio's Acceptable Use Policy
- Mobile carrier requirements and best practices
