Running Instagram ads
Paid local ads live on the Advertise tab - not under Outreach. Outreach is for sharing with contacts and on social.
Open Advertise
- Open the Advertise tab (right under Grow).
- Pick the service package you want to promote, or tap Create an AI ad.
- Choose a photo, set a location, then pick a budget under People you'll reach. Tap Launch this ad to pay. The Instagram ad preview stays on the right through the card form.
You need at least one active service package. If you do not have one yet, Advertise prompts you to create it first.
Create an AI ad
If you have not run an ad yet, Advertise shows why experts start here, a sample Instagram ad, and Preview my Instagram ad under the checklist. That opens the campaign form and generates Instagram creative with AI in about 10 seconds. When you launch, we add a short, readable price line to the photo (for example $20 Intro Session) so the offer is obvious in the feed. That includes AI photos, uploads, and stock. If adding the line fails, the ad still goes live. You only pay when you launch. You can also open Advertise with an intro-ad link to skip straight to that preview.
Targeting and budget
Location
Ads target a city or zip plus a radius. You can edit location later from the campaign menu.
Budget and reach
Pick a service package, then set Target area on the next line. The Instagram ad preview stays on the right as you scroll and when you pay. Ads lead with the per-session price and session count - the package total stays hidden until someone books. Under People you'll reach, pick a budget square. Each square shows estimated ad views.
After you launch
- If you launched from Home or Packages, tap View your ad to open Advertise and watch setup finish.
- The tracker moves from Created to Approved, then Delivering, then Completed.
- The spend ring always shows how much of the budget is used, even before Meta reports the first delivery - for example $0 of $10 and 0% spent. Daily breakdowns fill in after Meta starts reporting, usually within 24 hours.
- When the budget is used up - or nearly used up - Advertise treats the campaign as done. The spend ring shows 100% complete for the full budget, not leftover cents like $9.99 of $10.00.
- At the top of Advertise you will see Add funds (to keep a running or nearly spent campaign delivering), Resume campaign if you paused, and Start a new campaign.
- Finished campaigns stay on Advertise under Past Campaigns with the Instagram ad, a Completed stamp, plus Add funds and Re-launch this campaign.
- On Grow, the ads circle is complete only while an ad is actually running. After it finishes, the circle resets and the step shows Last ad finished so you can launch again.
- Under Your Impact, the Ad Performance card shows the same status as Advertise - Delivering, In review, Paused, or Completed - with a pulsing indicator while the ad is live or in review. Hover Delivering when no results have come in yet - Meta may take up to 24 hours to see delivery. A finished ad shows last-run Ad views and People reached, plus Add funds (or Run again) instead of a $0 spend ring.
- After the ad has enough views, Advertise and Your Impact show a Performance snapshot with click rate and Recommendations - for example Unlock more reach when a healthy click rate is limited by the current budget, or a note to refresh the photo when clicks stay low.
Recommendations and alerts
- The snapshot appears on Advertise once the ad has roughly 80 views. It uses the same numbers as the spend ring and daily chart.
- If the ad is working but the budget is holding it back, tap Add funds on the recommendation. We also send an email and an app notification after the ad has been live about two days - once per funding amount. Adding funds can trigger a new note later.
- If clicks stay very low after about a week, we recommend changing the photo or first line before spending more. That note is sent once per campaign.
- When the budget is almost gone, you still get the existing almost out of budget email and app notification. We do not stack that with the earlier recommendation on the same day.
Add funds to a running ad
- Open Advertise and find a campaign that is Delivering.
- Tap Add funds. Choose $10, $25, $50, or $100, then pay.
- The extra budget goes to the same Instagram ad. You do not start a new campaign. Delivery pacing extends so the new funds are not spent in a few hours.
Sometimes Profound adds funds to your live ad for free. When we do, you get an email, an app notification, and a text that we boosted your ad with that dollar amount.
